I have it and have decided to get the 3-year extended warranty for
$24.

I still have 60 more days to evaluate it, but I think for the price
and what features it has, it's a keeper. The extended warranty is a
steal that makes the deal even better.
One thing I really like is "skip backwards". Not only can I skip
forwards 30 seconds but I can skip backwards 10 seconds. Therefore if
I overshoot the skip forward I can skip back 1/3 as much. However it
only works for HDD recordings.
I also bought the Best Buy Insignia DVDR for $110 on sale. It will
serve as my backup unit.
The single most important criterion for both units is the ability to
play XviD AVIs.

"First and last, it's a question of money. Those men who own the earth
make the laws to protect what they have. They fix up a sort of fence or pen around what they have, and they fix the law so the fellow on the outside cannot get in. The laws are really organized for the protection of the men who rule the world. They were never organized or enforced to do justice. We have no system for doing justice, not the slightest in the world."
