Sorry for the OT, but I know someone here'll know the answer to this, and
it's less frightening than venturing into an unfamiliar group.....

My family name *was* taken as a ".co.uk" domain name, but the person who
registered it doesn't seem to have renewed it, and it is now in that limbo
period between the last renewal date, and the date it becomes available
again. I've managed for several dozen years without owning the domain name,
so I'm not desperate to get it, but I wouldn't mind, so long as I don't have
to pay a premium.

Is there a recommended way of securing it? I think it should be available in
the next couple of weeks.... And any suggestions of firms I should use to
register it, and host it?
