According to http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php the playback of DVD-R
and DVD+R on the Wharfedale 750 seems patchy. Most players of that vintage
have similar problems. First try the disk on a friend's modern player. If
that is OK at least you will know you are writing the disks properly. You
could try DVD-R, but your better bet would be to get a new player to replace
the Wharfedale, as that should play back DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW with no
problems.
