Which model do you have?
For instance, the Pioneer 533 and 633 always have the hard drive (HD)
whirring because they're always downloading TV Guide listings (or
trying to).
The Pioneer 640 does not have that defect. When you turn it off, it's
off. I suspect the same is true of other machines that don't have
that verkakte "TV Guide on Screen".
