 Sufficient for what?  You didn't state your requrements
 or application(s)?  (Even after we asked you.) Especially

 The DV-over-Firewire stream/protocol seems quite
 standardized.  Have you seen any issues?

 We've never heard anyone complaining that certain drivers
 would or would not work with camcorders vs. the standalone
 converter boxes.
 
 If you want us to understand what *you* mean by "CMU"
 you would do well to define it.
