Thanks Don,
I looked and it is set for ID3-V2, but my original post may have
been misleading, I re-encoded 10 downloads, only three had this
problem. The other seven came through smaller MP3's with the same
artist and album showing in WMP. This tune shows the title and
artist in the Windows My Music file folder, but placing the curser
over the listing the box that shows up in yellow has zero's or
square's instead of artist and title. It is picked up automatically
by the media player and added to the bottom of the list where it shows
up as zeros in the artist and album spaces. I recognize the artist,
but wouldn't want 10 of these in WMP to try and remember.
I thought it might have been some variable setting or most likely some
encoding in the original download that I'm not familiar with. I
worked it out by deleting the file that was re-encoded and using the
downloaded file in the larger size. I was reducing the size to save
space and since I can't hear the difference in 128 and 320 it seemed
the practical thing to do.
Appreciate your efforts,
Hal
