I run a medium size access center. We have about 9 years to go on the
contract and a one-time upgrade of about $400k.
I have to rebuild for 9 years with the future in mind. Obviously I will
go digital, and I'd like to go HD, or at least with upgradable
equipment.
Editing is easy, FCP. The studio is the tricky part. What format (tape?
hard drive?) I am interested in the Broadcast Pix switcher, but which
cameras? They need to be configurable for studio use (tally, etc.), so
I guess I need SD/SDI cameras that can be used in the studio, but are
HD capable. Any such beast? And I'd like to have a tape-to-tape edit
capability, but which format? (Must be capable of insert of video,
audio 1 or audio 2)
Any help here...?
