When I stick my flashdrive (USB) into my PC, a few of the songs hang, skip,
and
are largely useless.

Try using mp3arun (mp3 autorun)

It puts a tiny little player on your flash drive (or CDR or hard drive
directory) and avoids the bloatware of our common media players (Itunes,
Windows Media Player, Realplayer, Musicmatch Jukebox) In the past I have
used it on mp3 CDRs with great success, yesterday I stuck in a directory of
MP3 files on my newest flash drive - as soon as I insert drive it starts
playing.
