I get quite a few compliments about the way MP3-Boss (MP3 database &
Manager with Winamp support) finds duplicates.
Instead of just matching on exact file contents, it matches based on
the music content (without embedded tags), and also on a 15s segment of
the file. Once it finds suspected duplicates, it lets you review the
files in a number of different views for you to delete.
A planned future enhancement is to match on the audio fingerprint, so
even songs at different bitrates would match.
MP3-Boss is probably overkill if you don't have at least many hundreds
(if not thousands) of files.
