That is not accurate. Microsoft has stopped making Windows
Media Player for Mac, but the codec is still available so that
Mac users can play WMV on the native Quicktime player.

The end result is that Mac users can still play WMV, but using
their own player instead of WMP. IMHO, I wish they would
do the same for PC users.
