But I do set the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
%ProgramFiles% key to what I want it to be using Microsoft's very own
PowerToys TweakUI application.

Unfortunately, the buggy iTunes installer apparently does not respect the
Microsoft ProgramFilesDir key setting for the unneeded and unwanted yet
required QuickTime bloatware installation.

Like a tattoo on your doctor's forehead, an obviously badly written
installer is the very first tell-tale mark of a program that needs to be
replaced sooner than it is installed (IMHO).

Luckily, I'm pretty happy with SharePod but I did have to install the
freeware "Multi ID3 Tag Editor" to edit the tags for the MP3 songs going in
and out of SharePod.

This is because SharePod apparently uses the ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags to name
the songs and directories as they are copied from (any) iPod to (any) PC.
