Playlist repair sounded like a good idea...so I've just finished coding
it as an addition to MP3-Boss (Mp3 Database/Manager with Winamp
support). I hope to have the new release out by Sunday or so.
It will read the currently loaded Winamp playlist, and write out a file
with corrected information based on where it can locate the same-named
files in the Mp3-Boss database (which automaticallys scans any/all of
your hard drives). On my system, it takes less than a tenth of a
second to fix 100 songs.
Once the playlist is fixed, I think I'll just load the fixed playlist
into Winamp -- without overwriting the original playlist or creating a
new playlist (although there is a fixed temporary playlist created
during processing).
Any suggestions on what should be done better? Thanks for the idea!
