"Menu" -- USER-PROHIBITED -- WE need a DVD Player that can be made to
IGNORE USER-PROHIBITIONS, but, it appears to be illegal, according to
private law.

No it isn't, Academy Ratio is Standard; nearly everything worth watching
is in Academy Ratio. For playing widescreen movies, they play best on a
Standard TV, which comes with room in the bottom black bar for subtitles.

Usually they don't give you a choice, and when they do, usually (always,
in my experience) widescreen is the best choice. When full screen is
better, like with Yellow Submarine or Kung Fu First Season, they don't
give a choice.
