Too bad you said "double as a field monitor".
My initial recommendation would've been a JVC TMH-150CGU ($500 at B&H) but
it's AC only.
I've got 4 of them in edit suites at the college I work at and have been
very happy with them.
If you need a DC power model, my field monitor is also a JVC, the TM-1011GU,
but it's $650.
Both have blue only, underscan, NTSC/PAL, 16:9/4:3 switchable, etc.
