You are absolutley correct!

The recurring problem with these shows, is the winners never seem to last
long in the spotlight. These people are thrown in at the deep end, without
the chance to really nurture their talent, and some on these shows could
have made it far bigger, if they had worked at it properly. And I won't
accept the BS excuse they give that it never happened for them - all you
need to do is look at the "chart" to know you don't need a TV show to make
you a success.

The other problem, is "singing" is now more of a entertainment issue by
virtue of association with another "art". True musicianship has lost it's
way on these daft shows.

And the judges. Oh I bow down to thee, o great masters. The wife of Ozzy
wouldn't be sat in the middle if she didn't marry him. As for Louis and
Simon, sure, if you chuck enough shit, some will stick. I'm sure they had a
hand in artists careers that were far worse than any of the dipshits that
the auditions turns out. Their collective problem is they put their money on
the safest possible bet, rather than attempting to change the face of "pop"
music.

Maybe they'll learn that people watch the show for the dipshits, and they
should probabaly learn that "pop" stars are people with dreams and
aspirations of long successful careers, not some commodity with a short
shelf life.

But you would never get a huge success, because then there wouldn't be
another show worth doing, as how could you possibly make the audience
believe you will once again, create the biggest success from, what is
basically karaoke.
