Yep, there are two versions.
The first was by Fox Lorber and was released in letterbox on
11-26-1997. The last one was released by Koch on 4-6-2004 and is a
nice anamorphic version (1.85:1) with a Dolby 5.1 soundtrack.
This 1964 film is a bit unusual, for those of you who have never seen
it. All the dialog is sung by all of the actors. It features a very
young and lovely Catherine Deneuve! The theme song is the very
familiar "I Will Wait For You."
It's been a while since I've seen it, but I believe all of the dialogue
is in French with English subtitles. I don't believe they are burned
in, but I'm not sure about that. I remember watching it with English
subtitles, since I'm not French speaking.
Everyone should see this at least once in his lifetime.
