Another option is to get one of the many MP3 Database programs out
there, like my program MP3-Boss. It will scan any drive or selected
drives and populate a database with all of the mp3 files that it finds.
The advantage of an mp3 database program is that they will read
embedded tag information (if available) to automatically determine the
artist/album/title information -- and sometimes much more. For
example, MP3-Boss can give you a detail view with about 50 different
entries for each file (things like bitrate, publisher, website....etc).
If you are interested in MP3-Boss, you can check out a 30-day
evaluation copy at:

....it is only $15, but actually once you get the information
scanned...you could simply copy/paste the scanned information into
Excel if you didn't think it was worth the $15...so at very least that
would save you a ton of typing!
