I am having a very difficult time having a successful online music
store experience (I'm assuming this is one of many reasons torrents
remain so successful). My goal is to purchase songs legally (mostly
christmas jazz), and download them to my PC as MP3s. Can anyone
offer any online music store suggestions?

I've tried:
1) Rhapsody: But the downloads are RAX which are useless to me. My
attemps to convert to MP3 revealed a licensing error even though I
properly purchased and downloaded the song.

2) Napster: Too few selections for jazz.

3) Connect: Recevied at least 5 errors while attempting to add items to
cart or purchase music. My one download caused the software to crash
while attempting to play. Plus the songs appear to be in non MP3
format.

4) EMusic: Wants my credit card info even before I can browse for
music.

5) Itunes: Non-MP3 formatted music with copyright restrictions making
conversion difficult.


Any help, suggestions, experience will be very helpful to me as I try
to legally purchase music for the holidays.
