Has anyone built an affordable videorecorder for studio use on a pc or a mac
platform?
I am looking for a production recorder with video (and sound) in and out
connections, (but no tv tuner of course), as the signal would come from a
production mixer or directly from a camera (composite or component video).

So far I suppose it is rather easy, the tricky point is the software...
Software for video editing will not do the job, because the application
should be able to record continuously, and play back certain parts of the
recording at normal speed or in slow motion at the operators demand.

I am trying to achive something like what is described on

but to a much lower cost...

Ideas anyone?
