I started using the LITEON LVW-5006 DVD Recorder.

I used Verbatim DVD+RW for recording because I like to re-record and/or
add something else later. I record stuff at various speeds. Is this the
best choice?

One frequent problem I noticed is after successfully recording -
and perhaps after editing the title - I remove the disc and
notice the bottom side of the disc has a mysterious thin coating
of white dust. The dust is patterned spiralling from the centre like it
got strewn there as the disc spun in the machine.

The dust can be wiped it off but sometimes a little sticky. It's annoying
as it prevent other DVD players from playing the disc until I wiped it
off. What's causing that?
