The NVidia FX540 will work with Aspect HD, you do have to enable the overlay in both the NVidia drivers and within Aspect HD's playback settings control panel -- see the manual. Setting up the NVidia to behave correctly is trickier, in involves cloning the display so that mediaplayer output fills the second display (was mediaplayer for you tests.)
