I want to convert some old analog tapes (8mm and Hi8) to digital and
store on my computer in best possible resolution for future editing.

My sister has a miniDV camcorder with A-D passthrough capabilities
which she is willing to lend me. However, I have been reading a lot
about the Canopus ADVC110 which users seem to think is quite good. If
quality of the video is all I care about, which is the better option?
