Do you have the receipt? Where did you buy it?
Somewhere like HMV might take it back if you just say you got it as a
Christmas present (so don't have a receipt), although ideally you should
take it back to where it came from.
Some retailers might tell you to send it back to the manufacturers.
By the way, is the same problem on _every_ disc in the boxset? How many is
that? Have you tried it on other dvd players? / dvdrom?
