I strongly disagree that AllofMP3 is run by "Russian criminals." It is a
very user-friendly site with an excellent design structure and they post
'proof' that they are operating legally under Russian laws. (More than
most sites do!) I put "proof" in semi-quotes because I am not an
international expert in copyright law, (and I doubt you are), but the
fact they are even fighting this out in court means they have a leg to
stand on. If they didn't they would have been shut down with no hearing
whatsoever. Their lawyer (a NY lawyer) made a recent statement that he
believes they will win the case and continue providing their services.
Though all lawyers are paid to say such things, I certainly hope it's
true.

That said, they have fallen back on e-centru to process pymnts since
they entered their court battle. And in times like this companies are
sometimes forced to take on lesser partners than they'd wish.

Yeah, I decided to call my credit card company and change my number
after my last purchases. I will now wait until AllofMP3 comes up with
another (better) partner for processing credit card payments for the US.
I wish we had that cash option that EU has! Or that Chronopay was still
handling more than Diner's Club cards. When this gets straightened out
they (Chronopay) will be able to take VISA/MC again.

But there is just too little info on e-centru and their website is too
thin. Chronopay, OTOH, is a very impressive company with strong
privacy-oriented policies. I liked doing business with them and felt
comfortable with it. Especially considering they were processing pymnts
for AllofMP3 since 2000 without any problems of ID theft or any other
complaints. In fact, people have loved using AllofMP3 for many years.
