I worried about that too, when I first changed ports.

But the worry comes from a misunderstanding about how things work. Your
outgoing traffic and incoming traffic both use these ports, so anybody
else's WinMx that wants to talk to you already knows your port. You
publish your ports when you connect or refresh your connection. Your
primary (or your primary peers if you're a primary) keep track and
others get your ports from them.

In fact, there is no downside to changing ports. Just make sure that
you change both your TCP and your UDP ports, and make sure that you
tell your router (if any) to forward the new ports to the right PC.
