HD- DVD is clearly leading in sales figures across the usa and uk, but there
are now enough titles from both camps to allow both formats to co-exist.
Bluray will not make a real impact until machines are less expensive and
bugs all ironed out (i.e. problems with 1st gen machines). PS3 will make
little impact on bluray movie sales, and hardened AV enthusiasts will be
disappointed in pictures from a games console, especially when they have
paid for the best in display technology. It will be a long time before
either format reaches market saturation point, so just go out... buy the
player you want, be it toshiba hd dvd player, xbox add-on, ps3, or whatever,
and just enjoy it.
