You are in the right NG, at least you know that "Authoring"
is involved. You can find several authoring programs that
will "pass-through" AC-3 5.1 encoded stereo. I use TMPGEnc
DVD Author 1.6 (TDA), without allowing the AC-3 Plug-in
to downconvert into two channel AC-3. This means that I
don't hear the audio as I author the DVD, but it is there as 5.1
when the dvd is played.
