of available titles at DVDEmpire, only 7 of which are available on Blu-Ray.

I used to be a collector with over 300 films on tape in my library;
everything from Fritz Lang's Metropolis, Chaplin films such as "The Great
Dictator" and Modern Times," various Buster Keaton and Laurel and Hardy
films to more current films such as "Patton," "The Godfather I and II," "The
Longest Day" and a great many more. In a collector's mindset, new releases
generally don't interest me and all the films you mention I'll be able to
see in some other venue in high definition after theatrical release, neither
Blu-Ray nor HD-DVD required.
