Hello everyone,

I just purchased a Sony DVP-NS52P, mail-order. Wondering what the "P"
meant, I read the box to conclude that it is the "P" of "Progressive
Scan", which as I understand means higher resolution, hence better
quality. However, on the box there is also a note saying "Progressive
TV or Projector Required". Does this mean that this player will not
work with my conventional TV (an older Sony), or does it only mean that
I need a Progressive TV to get the "better" image quality, and that the
DVD player will function just fine at normal resolution with a "normal"
TV ?

As you probably have concluded, I am a complete newby in the DVD world,
and very much frustrated from what I have read on the box :(
