In the past, I have been able to find samples of the Sanyo "HD" video on the
web, and have downloaded quite a few of them. I presume the newer, improved
model will (and may already) have samples demonstrating its' performance.

The Sanyo previously released looked pretty weak IMHO. Given the size,
price, target market, etc. I would say that it filled a definite niche, but
it unquestionably was vastly behind any HDV content I have seen, even in
bright daylight with little motion in the scene. Perhaps the newer one is a
leap forward (but perhaps not.....)

Even Sony, with their powerful engineering talents, makes mpeg4 look pretty
disappointing in AVCHD. The reviews of these cameras as well as those of the
Sanyo have been quite scathing.
