I had the same situation with my cable ISP. They employ bandwidth shaping
technique which basically screws WinMX up totally.
If downloads DO start at all , they crawl at 1 or 2 kps and then give up.
I've tried switching ports which was one of the recommended solution , but
it doesn't really help.
Strangely enough , Limewire doesn't seem to be effected , but I don't really
like Limewire. Try Googling the " name of your ISP and WinMX slow downloads
to see if any other users on the same company are complaining of a similar
situation
