iTunes and iPod are mutually exclusive. Many other stores will work with
many other MP3 players.

I don't think so, no.

But if she has any of her 40s and 50s music on CD's, then it's easy
enough to copy them to MP3 files.

Records can be recorded to MP3; it just takes some work.
