IMHO, Since it is Sony and they are close fisted. It may be a while.
It will be up to the Chinese manufacturers to bring the price down
with cheap players and they will have to pay Sony a License for Blu
Ray. If Sony wants a lot for the for the License, the Chinese may sit
and wait. Sony likes to keep the price as high as possible. 'The HD
DVD Camp should Open Source the standard and let the Chinese make a
bunch of cheap players to over run Blu Ray. Then the Studios may see
the rise in sales and release more titles in HD DVD Format.
