I read the amazon listing:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E1PTGK/sr=1-2/qid=1136508360/ref=sr_1_2/102-9898828-4501747?%5Fencoding=UTF8
it says, "High-definition DVD playback via HDMI interface at 720p/1080i
resolution"
So, no 1080p output?
On the Inquirer link: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=28766
"Its called HD XA1 and it has support for HD content up to 1080I trough
HDMI and can also scale down to 720P and 1080P. It plays conventional
old DVD's."
that doesn't seem right. Support up to 1080i, but scales DOWN to
1080p? Either they transposed the i and p or that last "1080p" is a
mistake.
It's stuff like this that makes me wary of jumping in too quickly.
The HD-DVD discs themselves ARE encoded at 1080p, correct?
btw, the new Flat panel you bought: it has 1080p INPUTS, right?
