I thot the $50 price point discussed was for an internal drive/burner.
WRT that, the hardware for decode should be within the OS (or software
player) i'd think. Certianly a reason that DVD Drives are so cheap
wrt standlone players.

I believe that currently there has been a relaitvely huge price drop.
Isn't there a $500 Sony Bluray player? I seem to recall reading that
the HD-DVD players are getting a price drop and that there's one to be
in the <$400 range. It seems that $200 doesn't seem THAT far-
fetched. Of course, your point about a $50 player "Worth HAVING" is
taken, how many of the current $50 DVD Players are really worth
having? Still, people buy it...
