the person can use bandwidth throttle to limit the outbound speeds. for
instance.
best source for info is to right click on that person and click on Who Is
and see what their stats show.

Don and Mike...I have some new info. I just tried disabling my xp firewall,
and it had no effect at all on my download speeds - so I guess the answer is
that winmx has slow download speeds. I don't understand this at all - I was
led to believe that the downloads were fast. Can either of you tell me what
a typical download speed is for receiving something from someone who has all
his slots available (and only has 6 slots), or whatever the proper
terminology is. Just give me a ballpark number - does it ever get up in the
hundreds of kilobytes per second, or what. If not how the hell do people
use it to download video stuff - music is bad enough.
