In the UK and have a Toshiba SD-420E DVD player. Had a it a few years
(maybe 3) and bought it from now defunct Techtronics where it was chipped
for Multi Region.

It has become occasionally awkward to take DVDs - opens the drive and won't
play, or won't close the drive or the drives opens then shuts before you can
grab the disc. This has been acceptable since a couple of retries normally
sorts it and it does not happen all the time.

Recently, however, I can't get it to play new DVDS. We bought the Wizard of
Oz and Casino Royale (UK Region) and it won't accept them - you close the
drive and it opens it again. After 3 tries or so it then powers off and you
start the process again. Can't understand this as it plays all our other
DVDs both UK and US region.

Any ideas please ?
