I got a brand new laptop, so for me it made sense to move forward to
the new paradigms we'll be stuck with for the next 5+ years.

Besides, moving an existing PC from XP to Vista can be a problem.
After setting up a new PC, I sure didn't want to have to go through
all the setup/config/conflicts pain a second time.
