Just be careful because when you start playing with lifting grounds,
you increase the possibility of getting a shock or grounding the
camera's circuit boards in a way that lets all the magic smoke out.
Any procedure that requires you to attach "jumper cables" to the
camera and/or tripod is a giveaway you have something seriously wrong
and potentially dangerous happening. Yes, your wall wart is part of
the problem, I would try to borrow another to compare, plus I'd
concentrate on the mic connector area for your permanent "pro" fix.
