What kind of "bumps" are you having a problem with?
Could part of the problem be operational rather than
hardware?

It is a professional microphone with an XLR connector. But that
does not preclude using it with a consumer camcorder with a
mini-phone mic jack. I made up a 15-foot cable with a mini-
phone on the camera end and XLR on the other. Just specifically
for "stand-up interview" applications. I have some wiring diagrams
on my website for interconnecting XLR pro mics to mini-phone
consumer equipment (camcorders, MD recorders, etc.)

Dunno why you would need the Maycom Mic Tube?
It appears to be a mic preamp which boosts the signal
to line level. But the input connectors on all the consumer
camcorders I've ever seen are mic-level.
