The problem is not matter how many times you tell the little kids to
hold the mic still they don't! I have an XLR mic so if you think the
electro-voice wouldn't solve this then I will just use my old mic.

This is what I need. I have absolutely no idea about electronics so I
will have a look to see if I can buy anything like this off the
shelf.... Now I know the keywords google seems to be returning some
promising shops.

Ahhh I didn't realise. I have used it in the past to record on to an
mp3 player for podcast purposes. That makes things easier.
