The author of utorrent says his deal is entirely seperate, and he
won't allow data to be collected, but since he distributes the program
for free he's not making any money from it - whether his position may
change if they happen to make him an offer...

This is all speculation, he may be on the level and dislike the RIAA
as much as everyone else, but they're in a position to make a
lucrative offer. As I suggested, see the forums over at bluetack for
more info.

I still use uTorrent myself on occasions, but have moved back towards
Azureus recently for no reason other than I tried a newer version.
