Buy a consumer DVD recorder (set-top) having a IEEE-1394 input. Set
for "1-hour" speed (about 9 mbps). Play video on computer out via
'1394 port to the recorder. This is a 1:1 process (1 hour per hour of
video); but is probably about the best you can do .
