Just how secure do you need it to be ? - enough to put off casual
glances, or more concerted efforts at accessing the file ?

If you're only looking for simple protection, then Winrar probably is
enough for you - you simply archive the files adding a password while
they're on your hard drive, then burn the resulting file.

If you want something a bit tougher to break, perhaps try PGP - I
suspect if you get it from the international site it'll be more secure
than the US/Canada version.

If you actually wanted to make a DVD that you could watch in a normal
machine however... not a clue :-}

Thinking about it, there was something I saw the other day about how
to hide one file within another, think it only worked on XP though - I
think it copied text data into a JPG which could be opened either with
an image viewer or text program, but this might be a quirk, and leave
the file unencrypted and available directly through a hex editor...
