Ah, I thought it was betacam not digibeta having just re-read the
earlier messages. Yes Mike your are right stay away from DV/DVCAM but
DV50 would certainly be okay.

I am going to have to plug Apple's ProRes codec which would make the
above task a breeze. It would provide 10bit 4:2:2 SD at DV50 files
sizes and amazing quality. It is a stunning codec in SD and HD. So if
the original poster is has access to FCP6 he/she should consider getting
the footage captured into ProRes.

What? An Apple product actually matching the hype. Amazingly that
would seem to be the case...
