thanks both although it seems odd and still makes no sense to me unless i am
just being thick.
personal video recorder records on to harddisk, digital video recorder
records onto dvdr.
the naming makes no sense or suggestion of this.
if anything it should be the other way round, personal video recorder
implies this would be to dvd-r etc since this it is portable(personal).
what about a player which records to both - a pdvr :/
