Hi to all...........

Was wondering.........if I want to transfer music from cd to an mp3
player in wma format.........does it matter what program/encoder I
use, or is wma patented/licensed in some way so that no matter what
program you use, the quality/results are exactly the same?

I know some mp3 software can vary in sound quality, but is the same
true for wma?

In other words, if I use a program other than WMA 9, say, for example,
to create wma files for an mp3 player, will they sound the same as
files created (into wma) by WMA 9?

I'd really apreciate some help in this are from those knowledgeable
about the subject...........
