Thanks Lloyd...now you got me going on all this :-) . I told you I don't
buy DVD's but the offer is hard to beat (even though I never buy electronics
by mail - too much hassle if you have to send them back, especially if you
have to pay shipping - but Crutchfield sounds good, and I believe they are
honest and reputable). And lo and behold I threw out the paperwork on the
planet earth discs that were given to me as a gift, and now I can't even
return them to walmart (to swap them for high defs) without a confirmation
number since they were sent to me on line (but I will still keep working on
that).
And I was thinking of getting a high def player anyway especially since it
has a better upscaler chip in it (like you indicated). I wanted the 1080p
player, even though I only have a 1080i tv which I just bought at xmas, so
it will be quite some time before I get a 1080p tv (probably years). But
the offer sounds real good - and I may get it anyway (the 1080i hd-a2) -
hell I have three cheap DVD players now, might as well get a high def one -
lol .
Have you bought stuff from Crutchfield before, and have you been pleased. I
called them and what a nice guy I talked to (real friendly and
knowledgeable, and talked to me a real long time). I am sure I will buy the
damn thing, and then blue ray will win the format battle later - lol. Talk
to you later. I may write from time to time and ping you for some technical
questions if you don't mind :-) .
