Except that most of the computers that were sold with Win ME
don't have hardware compatible with running XP.
If you can, see if you can at least buy a used copy of Win 2000
(from ebay, maybe), but not an OEM copy. First, do a search on
Win 2000 hardware requirements to see if your computer can handle
the upgrade - chances are that it can (mine did). But also, Win
2K is now considered an old OS and even though I think they're
still providing MS updates for it, if you ever need support/help,
it'll cost a lot.
