Due to space limitations, I am forced to go with a DVD/VHS recorder
combo. I'd love to go seperate components but there just isn't enough
space in the TV stand for a satellite component, a stand alone DVD
recorder, and a VHS recorder. I realize that a recorder combo sux, but
I really have no other choice.

Anyway, my questioin is what are some fairly decent brands? I don't
want to spend over $200 for the combo, so I suppose I'm kind of
limited. I also want a combo that is able to play DivX and Xvid files
as I have so much downloaded that it would take an eternity to
properly transcode and burn a series of episodes/movies to DVD. I need
the VHS recorder/player as I have a lot of things recorded off of TV
that I'd like to eventually transfer to DVD.

I've done searches on Google, and many other places...this newsgroup
included. But, there is just so much information out there that one
just goes brain dead after awhile. Any and all help/suggestions that
you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advance for any
time you can spare.
